by SelectionLinks\" href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2013\/12\/09\/world\/asia\/china-ban-shark-fin\/index.html?hpt=hp_t3\">hotel suites<\/a>\u00a0on business trips.<\/p>\n<p>The new rules aim to &#8220;regulate the use of public funding on receptions,&#8221; Xinhua added.<\/p>\n<p>President Xi Jinping has made tackling official corruption a priority since taking power earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Some\u00a0<a title=\"Click to Continue &gt; by SelectionLinks\" href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2013\/12\/09\/world\/asia\/china-ban-shark-fin\/index.html?hpt=hp_t3\">hotels in<\/a>\u00a0Hong Kong and China have also removed shark&#8217;s fin soup from their menus and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com.hk\/2013\/06\/25\/travel\/airline-shark-fin-ban\/index.html\">airlines<\/a>\u00a0like, Cathay Pacific, have banned the product from cargo holds.<\/p>\n<p>Up to 73 million sharks are estimated to be killed each year, according to a 2006 academic study quoted on the website of campaign group\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/hksharkfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hong Kong Shark Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
