{"id":85272,"date":"2014-05-13T16:40:15","date_gmt":"2014-05-13T12:40:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archive2.ankakh.com\/?p=85272"},"modified":"2014-05-13T16:40:15","modified_gmt":"2014-05-13T12:40:15","slug":"nigeria-and-boko-haram-enter-talks-on-kidnapped-girls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive2.ankakh.com\/en\/?p=85272","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria and Boko Haram Enter Talks on Kidnapped Girls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Talks are underway between Nigerian officials and senior leadership of Boko Haram, the chairman of the Nigerian president\u2019s Boko Haram \u201cDialogue Committee\u201d confirmed exclusively to ABC News.<\/p>\n<p>Kabiru Tanimu Turaki would neither confirm nor deny that the talks are with the specific individuals holding the kidnapped girls, only the group\u2019s senior leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Turaki made a distinction between \u201ctalking\u201d and \u201cnegotiating,\u201d saying at this point the sides are not negotiating for the return of the imprisoned group members in exchange for the schoolgirls. There are more than 4,000 Boko Haram members in detention, according to the Nigerian Interior Ministry.<\/p>\n<p>The development comes one day after the Islamic terrorist group released video purportedly showing about 100 of the 276 girls kidnapped last month.
